Time-lapse

Steampunk fashion has come to my attention over the past couple of months. Personally, I think it's a great combination of Victorian fashion and industrial and scientific bits.

This is an impressive time-lapse of a 6 hour book cover design using a steampunk theme. I'm now interested in reading the books by Gail Carriger.

I original found this from the Bookliciousblog (all about books) and the original article from Orbits Books here.

From the Orbits article i found the Clockwork Couture "a fine steampunk clother". I've found a few pieces of jewelry I'd like owning. Plus, this blouse is beautiful!

Shoe Shopping

On my quest to find wedding shoes I ran into these that I like. All of them can be found at DSW but good luck if you have wide feet.

Love the leather flower detail on the strap.

I picture these going well with jeans.

I have worn out my blue converse (there are holes in the cloth). My husband told me if i replace them i have to get a color that isn't blue because i've had blue for years. I'm liking the pink a lot:

These could be perfect for an everyday type of shoe for work:

At the conclusion of my shoe quest i ended up with 2 pairs of navy heels, i don't have pictures of those ironically and neither of which were purchased at DSW. I got one from Avenue in a 9w but i think i'll have to exchange them for a 9.5w if i keep them. Then the other from Famous Footwear.

After trying on half a dozen pair of shoes at DSW I confirmed my suspicion that i can only comfortably wear heels in a wide width. I can buy some heels in a medium width but i have go with a size 10 which fits my toes ok but are 1/2 inch too long so the heel of my foot slips in and out easily. Even then 10s are not super comfortable. Which is why my shoe buying habits run toward sneakers, flats or strap sandals with a small heel. Plus i'm 5'2" i just can't wear super high heels with out feeling like my center of gravity is all off.

Does anyone know of a good place to buy shoes in a wide width? I can't believe it's that uncommon.

bargains!

I got all this for $150 dollars today - thankfully thanksgiving sales are all weekend:

- 2 bras {buy 1 get 1 free, that's awesome}
- 2 shirts {one is that popular kelly green, never owned something in this color before!}
- 2 pairs of shoes {casual nice brown, drk purple slip ons}
- 1 pair of jeans {i can only seem to find jeans that fit at Lane Bryant}
- 1 sweat shirt {zip up, bright teal, love it!}
- scarf & hat set {light pink and super soft}

This evening i worked on my sister's birth announcements. Hand writing the addresses, it's going well. Recent pictures were taken of Noel in a white dress and bonnet, super adorable, each one gets a 4x6. Tomorrow is the big day to start printing the announcements. My printer supposedly* prints 4x6 prints just fine and the paper is only a little bigger at 4.5x6.25 - i'm hoping it takes it ok.

*i've never actually tried it.

Black Friday

I'm at work. Boo.

Thought about going and doing some clothes shopping. I need a few essential items. Not really sure i want to do that with my evening but i have to and i may as well buy it all on sale.

- Can i just ask, what makes under wire in a bra snap so frequently? Drives me crazy!
- Why do dogs eat underwear? A weeks worth in fact. {yeah it was right before laundry day}
- Why are jeans going back to the high waist? Really that can't be comfortable for anyone. I wasn't real excited about seeing girls undies or butt cracks with the short waist jeans either but maybe if girls bought the right size jeans and length of shirts we'd be better off.

Did anyone find good deals or stay home?
